Covid-19 – returning to work

Jennie is delighted to announce that she has returned to work.

Due to NHS guidelines there are certain health conditions which we may not necessarily be able to massage.

And we cannot give Indian Head Massage yet due to the face-to-face element.

We also cannot give massage in offices as we have no control over the environment.

Here is Jennie in her PPE…

We would also ask, if you have been away on holiday, to wait for 14 days before making an appointment.

What does this mean for your sessions?

There will be a number of changes in the process both before and during each session, to help ensure both yours and Jennie’s safety.

The information below will no doubt alter as time goes on. Most important to remember, even with the most stringent safety standards, one can never be 100% certain – and as they say “it takes just one contact” …

So be sure before you make your first appointment. This is what will happen when you do: –

If you are a first-time client, your free pre-session consultation will now take place via email rather than face to face. If you wish we can do it on Zoom or via phone. There will be a full consultation document and consent form for you to complete and return.

If you are an existing client there will be a short update consultation – to see how you have been since pre-lockdown – and whether you have any Covid-19 issues. Also, on email, Zoom or phone

And there will be a consent form for everyone to complete regarding your exposure to Covid-19

All consultation and consent forms to emailed back at least 24 hours before the appointment. They will be printed off for ready for you to sign and date.

On the day of your appointment:-

Before you leave home, please check your temperature, and consider if you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms. If yes, please postpone or cancel your appointment…

Covid-19 symptoms

  • a dry aggressive cough
  • temperature above 37.8 C
  • loss of taste or smell

When you arrive, you will be required to take off your shoes, wash and sanitise your hands (drying them with paper towels) – and walk into the practice room without touching anything. Jennie will also take your temperature.

Please remember to bring a mask with you, to wear throughout. If you haven’t one, Jennie has plenty of disposable ones.

If you have uploaded the Test & Trace app, Jennie has a QR code for you to scan.

Come wearing easy to remove clothes if coming for massage. You will be given a container in which to put them. Please avoid wearing jewellery etc to make the process simpler.

And please also bring your own water – so you don’t have to touch glassware.

Any immovable soft furnishings in the practice room will be covered by couch roll. Cushions etc will have been removed. And the carpet will be covered.

The massage/healing table will have been thoroughly cleansed. Linens are automatically fresh for each client.

Jennie will be in full PPE – mask & goggles, gloves and apron over scrubs. Being massaged in gloves is not unpleasant at all – you will barely feel the difference.

When the session is over please leave any linens on the table, put your clothes back on and exit again without touching anything. You may also wish to use the bathroom and wash your hands before you put your shoes back on. Please keep the mask…

Payment ideally should be made prior to the appointment via Direct Transfer or PayPal to avoid touching card machines or money.

After each client, full cleansing of the practice space will take place. The table & all equipment, the hallway and bathroom, doors and floors. And Jennie will don new PPE for every client…

“I had a wonderful massage today with Jennie – I feel so much better and wanted to let people know that she is well prepared for working during Covid-19, wearing PPE and with lots of safeguards in place. In case you were thinking of having a massage and being nervous at this strange time”. SA – Civil Servant
